Natural dyed some easter eggs this year.
We used onion skins, blueberries, paprika, red wine, several teas including green, black currant & camomile.
Each ingredient was heated in water (no water needed for the wine) & brought to boil. I added a tablespoon or two of white vinegar to each. We gathered clippings from some of our house plants. The ferns worked especially well. I cut up an old pair of tights & wrapped the pressed plants around the eggs. Then I submerged eggs in the hot dyes.
It's fun to see the color variation changes depending on how long you let them sit.
The results were pretty magical.
